Hiding Tweetie Dock Icon

A quick trick to hide Tweetie for Mac's dock icon using a property list edit.

Many people, including myself, was expecting Tweetie for Mac to run without a dock icon. Unfortunately that is not the case and many people have put in a request for that feature. For the time being I’ve come up with a quick solution.

How-To

  1. Open “/Applications”
  2. Right click on “Tweetie” and “Show Package Contents”
  3. Open “Info.plist” in your favorite text-editor
  4. Add the following code snippet at the bottom right before </dict>

Tweetie Property List Snippet

<key>LSUIElement</key>
<string>1</string>

Save and relaunch Tweetie and you’re all set. This should work for any applications on OS X.
