First SocialSwag, @Me Twitter Shirt

Today I finished up and am now releasing my first t-shirt, a custom Twitter shirt via Zazzle.

@Me Twitter Shirt

The challenge was finding a distributor that could handle and meet my odd requirements. Each order placed was planned to be custom so traditional screen printing was out of the question. Direct-To-Garment machines range in the high thousands-of-dollars and most distributors charge many fees to cover the cost of their machines. Creating the shirts by hand was out of the question because I couldn’t commit to printing and shipping everyday.

Zazzle.com was the answer to all my problems, sorta. They handle the printing and shipping. Perfect! Their API is simple to use, but lacks the features I needed to create this shirt dynamically. As odd as that sounds, I had to come up with yet another API on top of theirs to support the features I needed.
